Mobile Legends Guide: Tips and Tricks for Newbies

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a 5v5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena popularly known as MOBA game for Android and iOS platforms created by Moonton, a game developer company in China and it was released on November 2016. It is Free-to-Play but has an in-app purchase and this includes Diamonds which you can use to buy heroes and skins, and are completely optional as the game stands for their title “5v5 Fair MOBA for Mobile”.

Mobile Legends is considered as an action real-time strategy (ARTS) game, is a genre of strategy video games that originated as a subgenre of a Real time strategy game, where a player controls a single character in one of the two teams. The objective of the game is to destroy the opposing team’s main structures especially the nexus, kill enemy heroes, and defend your base with the assistance of periodically spawned AI units or minions who fight forward with you along the set paths.

Here are some videos of the professional players of Mobile Legends that i recommend:

Mobile Legends Features

1. Classic MOBA Maps, 5v5 Battles
Real-time 5v5 battles against real opponents. Fight over 3 lanes to take the enemy’s tower. 4 jungle areas. 18 defense towers. 2 Wild Bosses. Complete reproductions of classic MOBA maps. Full-on 5v5, Human vs. Human battles. A triumphant return to genuine MOBA gameplay.
2. Win with Teamwork & Strategy
Block damage, control the enemy, and heal teammates! Choose from Tanks, Mages, Marksmen, Assassins, Supports, etc. to anchor your team or be match MVP! New heroes are constantly being released!
3. Fair Fights, Carry Your Team to Victory
Just like classic MOBAs, there is no hero training or paying for stats. Winners and losers are decided based on skill and ability on this fair and balanced platform for competitive gaming. Play to Win, not Pay to Win.
4. Simple Controls, Easy to Master
With a virtual joystick on the left and skill buttons on the right, 2 fingers are all you need to become a master! Autolock and target sifting allow you to last hit to your heart’s content. Never miss! And a convenient tap-to-equip system lets you focus on the thrill of battle!
5. 10 Second Matchmaking, 10 Minute Matches
Matchmaking only takes 10 seconds, and battles last 10 minutes, glossing over the quiet early-game leveling up and jumping right into intense battles. Less boring waiting and repetitive farming, and more thrilling action and fist-pumping victories. At any place, at any moment, just pick up your phone, fire up the game, and immerse yourself in heart-pounding MOBA competition.
6. Smart Offline AI Assistance
In most MOBAs, a dropped connection means hanging your team out to dry, but with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s powerful reconnection system, if you get dropped, you can be back in the battle in seconds. And while you’re offline, your character will be controlled by our AI system to avoid a 5-on-4 situation.

Mobile Legends Quick Review

Mobile Legends is a very popular mobile MOBA game especially in the Philippines, it is commonly called by players as ML or MLBB. Events and tournaments are also being held by two big Philippine Telecom Companies, Globe and Smart to encourage more Filipino mobile users to play Mobile Legends.

From my perspective, Mobile Legends accents are mostly copied from League of Legends (LoL) because you can get the feels of LoL map and characters while playing ML. Because it features much of what players would expect from a PC MOBA like DOTA, League of Legends or SMITE, including: laning, jungling, item builds, hero roles, hero abilities, skins, and much more.

The interesting part with Mobile Legends is that you can buy your equipment even without going back to your fountain, and you don’t need to buy potion as you had a spell called regen which will heal you health point for some time. This is a fast paced game, where on one run you only need at least 10-20 minutes play to win or lose.

If you are attached to PC MOBA like DOTA 2, LoL, HoN, SMITE or Heroes of the Storm, you might had a hard time adapting to mobile MOBA game especially Mobile Legends. But if you enjoyed playing Mobile Legends, you surely love it. Aside from its quick gameplay which will save your precious time, it is also portable because you can play it anytime anywhere with your android or iOS phone, just be sure have a good signal reception of 3G/4G/LTE to experience smooth gaming.

Some of known Mobile Legends competitors on mobile MOBA community are the following: Vainglory, Ace of Arenas, Heroes Evolved, Destiny of Thrones, Garena Arena of Valor, Heroes of Order & Chaos, Heroes of SoulCraft and MOBA Duels. Most of these MOBA games have similarities with each other so expect to be confused on what MOBA game will you going to choose.

In conclusion, Mobile Legends has both Dota 2 and LoL aspect combine which made it a pretty fun game. To know more about the game, continue reading for its Guide, Tips and Tricks.
